Experimental yet photojournalistic in approach Hutchison's work draws on broader personal and cultural narratives while exploring ideas of abstraction, photographic sequencing and sub-narratives. Sporadic, intuitive and dispersed, the work coalesces to form a ‘photo-poem’ examining our personal communications and their implicitly political content. The work, an exploration of how discourse and meaning are manipulated and hybridised in the image saturated condition of our post-internet age.
